Meet The Artist
My art is inspired by my environment and the landscapes around her, as well as my interest in all things spiritual and unknown in our world. These constant sources of inspiration guide my artworks, allowing them to develop organically as I feel my way through the creative process.
My desire is that my art evokes a sensory response for the observer, the same way it did for me during its creation, but in a way that is meaningful for them – whether that is a memory recalled, a sense ignited, or a feeling expressed. Transporting the viewer to places both real and imagined.
My creative work includes acrylic/mixed media painting and photography. I believe that both mediums allow me to express my creativity in different, but complementary ways. The textures, shapes, light and colours that draw me to a particular image are the same elements that find form in my paintings.
I enjoy working with alternative mediums and tools to create my paintings such as plastering and building scrapers and kitchen and palette knives to create layers of texture and fluidity in my work using contrasting, as well as complimentary colours.
I’d like to invite the observer to stop for a while, maintain their gaze and see where it will lead them. To not just look with their eyes, but to allow their senses to guide them in the same way that the work was created, and to feel the same level of engagement in a piece that I felt when creating it.
My passion is in the creation of original contemporary artworks, limited edition art prints and working with art lovers to create unique and customised commissions for their homes.
